Celebrating Spring With This Lovely Lady!

Hello Lovelies,

Spring has finally sprung, and with full force!

One of my favourite things about Spring is watching everything come to life, whether it is warm hazy days, sunset strolls or sauntering under blossom covered trees.  The warmer weather also means a new wardrobe (or at least fishing out last years clothes) it's time to put away the cashmere and boots and pull out those Spring essentials.

A couple of weeks ago a friend and I decided to meet for lunch, the sun was shining, the sky was bright blue and we were surrounded by beautiful houses; the shutterbug in me was going crazy so I pulled out my camera and started snapping.

I love Spring clothes, and this was definitely a pic worthy outfit, a Stradivarius jumper with a keyhole back, Topshop Leigh skinny jeans (my favourite design) and some fab accessories.  I love delicate jewellery and these Monica Vinader stacking rings, and Lotus bracelet from Daisy (similar here) were the perfect accompaniment to the outfit.

After curbing my camera lovin' we rooted through our bags for essentials then made our way back into the middle of town for a cheeky pizza and an afternoon of lazing in the sun!

Brunettes definitely have more fun!

What are your go to Spring staples?

Healthy Gummy Sweets

Hello Lovelies,

I know I have been neglecting you all recently, but I have had seriously bad 'Bloggers Block'.  After a couple of months of faffing around I have sorted me life out and am back on track!

All my blogging failures aside, I want to get to the pretty point of this post, which is SUGAR.

Sugar and I do not have a healthy relationship, I have always been a complete sugar addict, but in January this year I quit the white stuff!  Eliminating the sweet stuff wasn't easy, but the health benefits from doing so was what has kept me going.

Although I have been very strict with myself, I have had a secret weapon, my healthy gummy sweets.  These yummy morsels contain only three ingredients fruit juice, Grass Fed Organic Gelatin, and raw honey (so hardly a recipe) just a mix of all the good stuff.

A Few Benefits of Gelatin:

Supports skin, hair and nail growth
Balances cortisol levels
Strengthens bones, teeth and cartilage
Healing to the digestive tract
Full of collagen, which helps reduce wrinkles and cellulite
Aids weight regulation
Beneficial for joints
Reduces inflammation
Improves immune function
Can help with hormone balance
As you can see gelatin has its fair share of health benefits, mix it with fresh fruit juice and raw honey and it becomes a complete winner!

As I mentioned above you only need three ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of grass fed gelatin
  • 1 cup of fresh fruit juice (any will do, so experiment)
  • Raw honey to taste
It is a super easy recipe that I am sure will become a firm favourite.

1. First oil your container or silicon molds, I either use 3 heart molds or a medium baking dish, If you use molds then stick them in the freezer for 5 mins (after setting) as this makes popping them out much easier.

2. You need to work quickly with gelatin so make sure you have everything measured out before hand.

3. Next mix your juice, gelatin and honey together in a saucepan until it starts to thicken.

4. Once thickened pop your pan on the hob and stir until it just starts to boil, then remove from the heat and pour into oiled molds.

5. Allow to call in the fridge for 2-3 hours.

6. Your gummy sweets can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.

7. Enjoy!

New Year's Giveaway || A Shiny New Filofax To Keep You Organised!

Hello Lovelies,

I took a bit of a blogging break over Christmas , well actually most of December and half of January (seriously naughty blogger!), but now I am back and raring to go, so what better way to kick of the blogging year than a very exciting giveaway.

One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more organised, I'm really good at the organising, but I am rubbish at keeping it all going.  The only thing in my life that stays super organised is my Filofax, a beautiful brown leather organiser that I plan my life in.  I would definitely be lost without it, so with that in mind I decided I wanted to give you Lovelies the chance to win a brand spanking new Filofax, so you can keep your life organised in 2015!

'Me Time' With Some Help From Christy

Hello Lovelies,

After a less than peachy couple of days I decided I needed to take a little me time.

I think taking a bit of time for yourself is really important, it allows you to de-stress, unwind, and makes for a happier, healthier person.

My top six 'Me Time' activities are:

Going for a run

Taking a bubble bath
Reading a book
Giving myself a manicure
Watching Netflix
Doing a bit of Yoga

I decided that a lovely hot bath would do the trick, so I poured some of my favourite Molton Brown Ylang-Ylang Body Wash into the bath, for a relaxing bubbly soak, then lit my new favourite Christy Candle In Fragrance 1*.

"a beautiful blend of soothing chamomile layered with delicate notes of lemon blossom, violet all resting on a base of sweet musk & precious woods"

Alongside my lovely candle I had the fluffiest towel in the world, a Christy Royal Turkish Towel* in a beautiful Mulberry colour.  If you are in the market for new towels, (or maybe an Xmas prezzie) then head here for the best in town!

The Maiden Voyage Of My Shore Projects Watch

Hello Lovelies,

On my birthday list this year was a Shore Projects Poole Watch.  I had been poring over their beautiful Instagram page for a while and had fallen in love with their watches and philosophy.

Shore Projects are a watch brand that was started by a group of friends who wanted to create a timeless timepiece of great quality that could be worn everyday.

The watches are inspired by the British Seaside, so I thought the best way to show you lovelies was to take it to it's natural habitat and have a little photo shoot!

The watches have an interchangeable strap mechanism that allows you to easily swap the straps.  I was luck enough to be given a light brown leather strap alongside my watch, but there are lots of different straps available, from the Classic collection to Leather and Polka Dots; these allow you to transform the look and feel of your watch in just a few seconds.

I am in love with my watch, It looks just as fab with jeans and a waterproof on the beach as it does with a dress and heels to work, it's a real winner.  If you have fallen for this watch as much as I have then you can buy them Online, at Liberty or pop to their stand in Westfield shopping center.

Are you a watch fan or are you someone who just asks someone else for the time?

"You Say Crisp. We Say Chip!" || Popchips*

Hello Lovelies,

I am definitely one for snacking, but my problem is that it's hard to grab the good snacks when you're on the go, the shelves are full of crisps sweets and chocolate bars, all easy to eat on the go but not particularly good for you.

Popchips are the answer to my prayers, they aren't fried or baked, they are instead popped like our favourite cinema snack. They have less than half the fat of fried crisps and are less than 100 calories per serving so great for those who are health conscious.

They are "naturally" delicious, with no fake colours, no fake flavours, no preservatives and they only use ingredients you can feel good about eating.  Leaving out all the bad stuff like hydrogenated oils and MSG that give snacking a bad name.

I have been a fan of these chips for quite a long time, but have only ever eaten the "Original" ones.  So when the lovely people at Popchips sent me a box of their yummy snacks I did a little happy dance on the doorstep.  Instead of inhaling them right then and there, I packed them into the hamper and took them down to Dorset for a big family get together.  They were enjoyed by the whole family, both young and old and were munched on the beach while fossilling and scoffed in the evening with lashings of hummus, a thumbs up all round!

If you want to get your hands on these yummy chips then check out your local major supermarket.

Going Nutty for Pistachio Curtains With Hillarys*

Hello Lovelies,

I am pretty obsessed with Interior design, from spending hours pinning on Pinterest to painting my bedroom furniture and picking fabrics.  So when I was asked to review Hillarys new collection it was anything but work!

After perusing for a while I found my favourite curtains in the Global Textures collection.  It was a pair of pistachio green beauties that tickled my fancy. The 'Celeste' curtains have an embroidered hourglass outline against a matte linen effect base (I love linen curtains).  They are available in three colours Biscotti, Pistachio and Grape, the Biscotti is a nice and neutral option but I do have a slight obsession with Pistachio greens at the moment.

Pistachio is a funny colour, it is a perfect example of how the implementation of a colour is what determines whether or not it looks dated.  As a tot I was surrounded by Pistachio bathrooms, definitely not tasteful!  However using it as a pop of colour can liven up your room, and give it a fresh Spring feel.  ,
