It was my Grandmas birthday yesterday so my mother and I jumped on the Red Jet and nipped over to the Isle of Wight for the day to see her and give her her prezzies.

Once we had juggled our way across to the Island trying to balance handbags, presents, cupcakes and a hanging basket we jumped on a bus up to my Grandmas, where we had a cup of tea and decided what we wanted to do for lunch, after present opening and tea we hopped on another bus back into Cowes to have a birthday lunch, after much trawling up and down we finally ended up at The Fountain where we had a scrumptious lunch.

I had Appletiser to drink, which i don't think I have drunk since i was about ten! Then to eat my mother and I shared two starters while my Grandma had tomato soup and hunk of warm bread. We shared some mackerel pate and toast and some duck spring rolls and hoisin sauce, all rather yummy.

After lunch we wandered up the High Street towards 'live like this' its an Aladdin's cave of loveliness, I could literally buy the whole shop. It sells the most gorgeous children's clothes and toys, so while I was there I bought my god-daughters birthday present, I can't wait to give it to her.

This chandlery reminds me of my childhood, there was always something my father needed for the boat! |

After our little shopping trip we went back to my Grandmas house and had tea with my Auntie sadly our baking skills were lacking this year so it was bought cupcakes instead (sorry Grandma)! After a lovely catch up we walked to the ferry in the evening sun, a lovely end to a lovely day. S.x
