The other day my Grandma and I went to get a little lunch, so we wandered into town to find somewhere, we didn't want something massive so after completing a couple of chores we stumbled into the Boston Tea Party to escape the summer sun.
I love ice tea and the Boston Tea Party has a wonderful "Alice in Wonderland" tea which consists of a blend of their fruit berry tea with apple juice, very scrummy and a little naughty.
The decor of the Boston Tea Party is lovely, it used to be "The Old George Inn" then the "Old George Hotel" and has had visitors such as Shakespeare, Cromwell, Pepys and Buddy Holly. The architecture is beautiful as it is a gorgeous old building steeped in history and the way they have furnished it is very kitsch but complements the space. The hanging lit teapots trestle tables, school benches and chairs along with the big chesterfields and armchairs all add to the feel of the place.
After picking our table which took much longer than it should as we are both incredibly indecisive, we nattered until our food came, we both ordered a wholemeal bagel with field mushrooms and poached eggs, absolute delight on a plate, after snaffling down as much as we could we finished our drinks and wandered home for an afternoon of sun worshiping!
We did manage to avoid the cakes!
Has anyone else been out for a spot of lunch recently?
I have never been there before but it looks amazing! And the teapots hanging from the ceiling?! How cool!! :)
