Hello Lovelies,
As I am teetotal and avoid fizzy drinks like coca cola and lemonade my drinks choices are pretty limited when I am at a party, so I usually opt for the classic elderflower cordial and fizzy water. However when I am on home turf I like to spice things up a bit, homemade watermelon juice is scrummy and with a little fizzy water added it makes a snazzy evening drink. It also satisfies my love of juicing and smoothie making.
First thing to do is scrape out the flesh of the watermelon and pop it in a blender, mine fits half a melon at a time but it is pretty old school, so if yours is snazzy and new it might hold more and blitz it it in a flash rather than waiting minutes like I have to.
After giving the flesh a blitz in the blender, pour it through a sieve into a mixing bowl with a lip or a large jug, it is important to sieve it as you will be left with little pips and you want to have a smooth drink.
After your juice is strained it is fab to put in Le Parfait Familia Wiss Terrines Preserve Jars or some similar kind of air tight jar, today I just popped it in a jug as I knew it would get drunk but if you want to keep it for a couple of days then airtight containers are a fab idea.
At last I managed to use my new straws, all very Pinterest!
Does anyone else like juicing?
This sounds so simple but delicious, I never make my own juice but I definitely should. Freshly squeezed orange juice is heaven! xx
ReplyDeleteI love freshly squeezed orange but it gives me migraines sadly. x

I'm not perfect, I do occasionally but I am not really that into them. Watermelon Martini sounds very snazzy. x
